Runtime with the same load

These calculated illustrations use a full starting charge, 10% stopping reserve, 100% assumed capacity factor, 85% AC efficiency, and 5 W inverter idle draw. They show the effect of nominal capacity under identical assumptions, not measured product efficiency.

Startup duration and connection requirements are separate checks. None of these estimates establishes motor-start compatibility or guaranteed operating time.

Equal capacity, different output limits

Both documented US variants have the same nominal capacity. Their identical calculated runtimes above follow from that capacity and the shared assumptions; they are not evidence of identical measured efficiency.

The AC70 has a higher continuous AC rating. That can matter when a load fits within its ordinary output limit but exceeds the RIVER 2 Pro’s limit. Increasing output capability does not increase the energy stored in the battery, so a demanding load can still drain either station quickly.

Carrying weight and solar replenishment

The RIVER 2 Pro is lighter in the cited specifications. The AC70 accepts a higher maximum solar watt input. Which difference matters more depends on how far you carry the station and whether your proposed panels, voltage, current, and available sun can use the additional input capability.

Use the solar calculator with each station’s own limit and otherwise identical assumptions. Treat the result as equivalent charging hours, then consider the daylight window and energy needed overnight separately.

Checks before choosing either

Both catalog records include surge magnitudes without duration. Keep motor-start compatibility unresolved until you have enough evidence for the exact appliance and station. Check USB power profiles and DC outlet limits independently of the AC rating.

For modest sustained loads, begin with the runtime estimate and your required reserve. For higher-power tools or appliances, begin with the output check. Confirm current accessories and warranty terms from the manufacturer; this comparison does not track offers or rank the models by price.

Evidence used

The facts above are specification-based. The source access date records when the evidence was checked; it is not a claim that the product was physically tested on that date.
