Updated

A useful power estimate makes its facts, assumptions, and remaining unknowns visible.

Product evidence

Product profiles use official manufacturer pages, manuals, and support material for the identified US variant. Capacity, output, physical specifications, charging limits, and warranty information retain their own source references. Source access dates describe when a source was consulted; they are not dates of a physical product test.

Similar model names and regional variants are not interchangeable. If a source does not establish a field, the field remains unknown. Conflicting evidence is not averaged into a new specification. A marketing boost or lifting mode is described separately from continuous output and documented surge capability.

What the evidence labels mean

  • Verified: the displayed core specification groups have source evidence for the identified model. Other fields may still be unknown.
  • Incomplete: the profile contains useful cited facts, but important information remains unestablished.
  • Conflicted: a material disagreement prevents a reliable interpretation. These records are excluded from calculator recommendations.

None of these labels means hands-on tested, certified safe, or guaranteed to run a visitor's equipment.

Examples and assumptions

Worked examples use the same calculation functions as the interactive tools. Their inputs are labeled as illustrations, unless explicitly attributed to a source or provided by the user. A default efficiency, reserve, health factor, or idle draw is an editable assumption, not a measured average for the product catalog.

Product comparisons hold the displayed load and calculation assumptions constant. Differences in a modeled runtime should not be read as evidence that one product has better measured efficiency or real-world performance.

Authorship and assistance

Portable Power Calculator is the publisher. Software-assisted research and drafting are used, together with source checking and automated calculation and site checks. We do not invent reviewers, credentials, test laboratories, ownership experiences, or measured results. The About page describes the site's scope.

Commercial separation

Commission does not determine calculator eligibility or product order. The affiliate disclosure explains the current status of commercial links. We do not invent prices or availability to fill gaps in the evidence.

Corrections and revisions

A useful correction identifies the page, the disputed statement or calculation, and a supporting source or reproducible input. Use the contact page to provide that information. A correction to a product fact should update the evidence record; a change to calculation behavior should also update the calculation version.

Page revision dates and source access dates serve different purposes. Editing wording does not make a product source newly verified. Where information cannot be established, we keep that limitation visible instead of presenting a guess as fact.
